Hey there,
I'm checking out a Fifth Wheel on Sunday and as a first time buyer, who has never even camped in a rig before ( I always went for tents) I really have little idea what to look out for.
So, the guy wants 5,000 for a 5TH wheel 1993 Terry Resort 30’ with 14’ SlideOut and 20’ Awning… inside is a nice frost free Whirlpool fridge (house fridge) House toilet, Inside and outside showers Queen Size Bed (no mattress) , LOTS of Cabinets with mirror faces 4 burner stove w/oven, full kitchen…Also has extra large holding tanks 2-grey water tanks,1-blackwater tank and 1-108 gallon fresh water tank, water heater is propane/electric, central heater, comes with 2 window mount A/C units has rooftop central A/C but may need replacing(not sure yet) trailer was remodeled 3 years ago to live in….Roof has been cleaned, sealed and coated every year since I bought it.
What do I look out for? I asked about the repairs, the AC rooftop needs replacing, minor leak in the slideout- he said he can show me how to repair it?, bath sink has cosmetic damage. That all seems fine but is it? He also did all the electrical wiring himself...hmmmm might that be a problem?
Please respond asap - Thanks
Rosanna

Re: ISO - Fifth Wheel Buyers Guidance
Sun, February 24, 2008 - 8:39 AMit's not a steal, but sounds like the "right" price. In '93 that went for 15-20k. Maybe more. I never heard of Terry before, but that don't mean it's not a quality product. Never messed with sliders, either. I expect they can be a lot of trouble. And if you expect to be camping away from facilities (AC power etc) you might wanna consider replacing the fridge with at least a propane/electric.
